Munitions Maintenance Facility

Hill Air Force Base, Utah

This 25,166 SF project consisted of the design and construction of a new single-story facility for the 388th MXS Munitions Flight, and has areas for maintenance and administration, training, storage, equipment bays, paint and sandblast booths, wash rack, emergency generator supply, mechanical, electrical and communication/data room. The building has two distinct areas: (1) Munitions Support Equipment Maintenance Bay and Training Bay with the highest roof lines and (2) Administrative Area with the lowest roof lines. The maintenance area is used to repair and maintain trailers which transport munitions assets and to train wartime core task competencies. The facility is sized for approximately 100 personnel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Design-Build project included development of design deliverables for review, anti-terrorism/force protection, design deliverables for construction, grading, relocation/protection of utilities, utility service connections and runs, fire protection/life safety systems, handicapped accessibilities, EMCS, HVAC, all necessary conduits and cabling, plumbing, mechanical system, interior utilities, interior/exterior finishes, exterior security lighting, parking, landscape rock landscaping, signage, and all necessary features and yielded a safe, complete, and usable facility for its intended use.
