Built to Execute Positioned to Lead

HHI Corporation is a federal-focused construction and manufacturing firm delivering specialized infrastructure, fabrication, and engineered solutions for defense and industrial clients nationwide.

For over five decades, we have operated at the intersection of construction discipline, manufacturing precision, and government contracting compliance.

We do not simply build projects — we deliver solutions that support mission readiness, operational efficiency, and long-term durability.

Our Values

Honesty

We operate with transparency, accountability, and integrity in every contract.

Government work demands trust — and we earn it through clear communication, accurate documentation, disciplined scope management, and straightforward execution. Our word matters, and our performance reflects it.

Hard Work

HHI was built on grit and craftsmanship. That work ethic remains embedded in our culture today.

We take ownership of outcomes, push through complexity, and remain committed to delivering projects on time, within budget, and to exacting standards. We do not shy away from difficult builds — we prepare for them.

Innovation

From design-build problem solving to specialized fabrication, we continually pursue smarter, more efficient solutions.

Innovation at HHI is not about flash — it is about improving processes, streamlining maintenance, enhancing safety, and delivering long-term value. We apply engineering thinking to construction challenges and manufacturing precision to field execution.

These principles have guided HHI for over five decades and continue to shape our future.

They are not slogans — they are operational standards that define how we build, how we partner, and how we lead.

Our Campus

HHI operates from a 54-acre construction and manufacturing campus in Utah’s Ogden Valley. Our facility supports fabrication, staging, equipment assembly, and integrated project coordination.

This infrastructure enables us to execute efficiently while maintaining control over quality and production timelines.

Our History

Built on Vision. Strengthened by Discipline. Positioned for the Future.

In 1971, physicist Don Hokanson made a bold decision — he left a successful university career to pursue a vision of building something lasting with his own hands.

What began as a small contracting operation rooted in craftsmanship and determination quickly evolved into something much larger. Through persistence, discipline, and a relentless commitment to quality, Don built a reputation for solving complex construction challenges and delivering work that earned trust.

Over the next four decades, that foundation of integrity and performance became the cornerstone of what is now HHI Corporation.

Establishing a Federal & Defense Presence

As HHI matured, the company developed deep expertise in federal contracting and government project execution. Don and his growing team gained extensive experience working within regulated environments, mastering the documentation, compliance, and coordination required for government work.

HHI has successfully completed projects at major military installations including:

  • Hill Air Force Base
  • Dugway Proving Ground
  • McConnell Air Force Base
  • And numerous defense facilities nationwide

In 1994, Don’s son, Cliff Hokanson, joined the company — strengthening its leadership and expanding its operational depth. Together, they positioned HHI not simply as a contractor, but as a trusted execution partner capable of delivering complex, design-build and specialty projects.

As project demands increased, HHI expanded into fabrication, specialized equipment manufacturing, and integrated installation services — adding in-house capabilities that enhanced quality control and schedule performance.

Transition & Expansion

In 2011, Don Hokanson began a well-earned retirement, transitioning ownership to Cliff and Regina Hokanson. Under their leadership, HHI entered a new phase of strategic growth — expanding relationships, refining internal systems, and deepening its expertise in design-build, specialized fabrication, and government-focused manufacturing.

In 2013, HHI relocated its headquarters to a historic 54-acre campus in the Ogden Valley, transforming a former brickyard into a thriving construction and manufacturing center. The site reflects both heritage and forward momentum — honoring its industrial roots while supporting advanced fabrication and project execution capabilities.

Today: A Prime Contractor with Integrated Capability

Today, HHI operates as a vertically integrated construction and manufacturing contractor serving federal, defense, and industrial clients.

Our team includes experienced project managers, construction professionals, fabricators, and engineering collaborators who specialize in:

  • Complex design-build projects
  • Defense support equipment fabrication
  • Aircraft maintenance platforms and stands
  • Specialty trailers and work systems
  • Industrial infrastructure solutions
  • LEED-informed and sustainability-focused construction

HHI has designed and fabricated products that streamline aircraft maintenance operations, including aircraft maintenance stands, tire trailers, and specialized work platforms — supporting mission readiness and operational efficiency.
