Utah ANG Runway Repair

Ronald R. Wright Utah Air National Guard Base, Salt Lake City International Airport, Utah

This project entailed the renovation and reconfiguration of a 4,000 SF existing space inside Building 302 to suit the facility’s new mission. The building is located within a secure area and all work was carried out with vigilance adherence to a Base Construction Security Plan.

The scope included the demolition of existing walls, mezzanines, and various locations with concrete slab. New footings and slab-on-deck concrete were installed to handle the larger mezzanine which now houses a large IT / server room. Other equipment installed included the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Per the request of the customer, the firm took additional steps to remodel the existing vault door and connecting room into a viable space that adhered to the required safety and government regulations. Plumbing modifications included servicing a new breakroom, routing the waste and vent pipes to the existing lines, and routing domestic hot and cold water to the new plumbing package.

Electrical work included the removal of a 200 KVA transformer and installation of a new 500 KVA transformer, new automatic switches, lighting with occupancy sensors, fire/smoke alarm, and wiring of all other electrical components. The new 500 KVA transformer also required new equipment slab. Additionally, the firm installed new fiber optic and copper cabling for the IT / server room.
