Air Squadron Operations Center
This project entailed new construction of a 23,498 SF air support operations building and a 12,508 SF Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) vehicle organizational storage building located at Fort Carson, Colorado. In addition to the main air support operations building, the complex included a concrete hard-stand area for government vehicle parking and equipment staging, as well as a privately operated vehicle (POV) parking lot. The ASOC facility met US Air Force High Performance and Sustainable Buildings (HPSB) requirements, DoD AT/FP, ICD 705, SCIF, and USGBC LEED Silver certification. The organizational storage structure was designed to shelter up to 24 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), trailers, or other similarly sized tactical vehicles with respective gear. Systems for the organization storage structure included electrical, fire sprinklers, fire alarm, compressed air, lightning protection, and security systems.
