Dugway Baker Lab Renovation

Dugway Proving Ground, Utah

The renovation of Baker Laboratory was comprised of a two-phase project for a 37,474 SF facility with a 485 SF addition. The renovation of a biological laboratory included selective demolition (building was gutted to structural elements) and installation of a new office space, live agent test chamber area, showers, and laboratories to BSL-2 (BSL- Biological Safety Level). The installation also included new electrical, plumbing and HVAC, exhaust system, and filter banks. New backup generators, UPS, transformers, motor controls, heating and ventilation systems, boilers, clean steam boilers, DI water, vacuum, and compressed air, mechanical controls, an air pressure monitoring system for each lab, intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, fire alarms, fire sprinklers, roofing and EIFS.

The project was completed at Dugway Proving Ground in a high security controlled environment on an active campus. HHI planned in advanced for the safety of and minimal impact on the personnel on campus. This project received and OUTSTANDING performance evaluation.
