Hangar 9620 Electrical Upgrade

Fort Carson, Colorado

HHI competitively won the Design-Build Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) task order to provide all labor, equipment, and materials to update and upgrade the current “Power Service System” (PSS) which was designed for a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter to properly accommodate the HH-60M Blackhawk in the current Army fleet.

The new system supplies 35kVA which prevents tripping the new units off line as they had in the past. HHI removed the six (6) 90 kVA existing power units located throughout the hangar floor. These Power Service Points, or commonly called “Load Points” were fixed with a 50-60 FT AC 400 Hz power cable assembly and were sometimes coupled with an extension cable assembly for an additional 50 FT. Units were removed and disposed of off-site.
