Navy Operations Support Center
This 37,000 SF facility was designed to serve the diverse needs of the Navy reservists and contains a wide variety of special purpose rooms. These include fourteen classrooms, office and administrative areas, a conference room, a drill hall/gymnasium, food preparation areas, a medical suite, bathrooms, five telecom rooms, two electrical rooms, a designated SIPR net room, locker rooms with showers, a lactation room, and storage rooms.
The drill hall is a large, open gymnasium area with athletic-resistant rubber flooring, impact-resistant drywall, acoustic wall panels installed directly on deck and walls to mitigate echoing, motorized roller shades on windows, a striped floor with volleyball and half-court basketball, and volleyball sleeves in the floor to accommodate net set-up. The drill hall is connected to the mess kitchen area, which consists of a foot storage area and preparation area, allowing it to serve as a mess hall.
Another major feature of the NOSC is the medical suite, which includes two exam rooms, two blood draw rooms, one immunization rooms, two large storage rooms in that area, and two library transcript medical file areas. These medical offices will allow the Navy to conduct wellness examinations for reservists and contain everything from x-ray equipment to dental areas.
