The Beginning
In 1971, a physicist left his university job to pursue his dream of contracting. With a hammer and nails, he faced sweat, smashed thumbs, and emotional highs and lows. Through mistakes and perseverance, he earned respect, mastered the rules, and built a growing operation supported by a dedicated team.
Building HHI Corporation
After 40 years of hard work, Don Hokanson transformed HHI Corporation into a thriving contracting company. With his son Cliff joining in 1994, the team completed projects at Hill Air Force Base, Dugway Proving Grounds, McConnell Air Force Base, and other military sites, adding fabrication and specialized equipment installation.
A Legacy Continued
In 2011, Don Hokanson retired, leaving HHI in the hands of Cliff and Regina Hokanson. They expanded the company’s expertise in design‑build and fabrication, strengthened business connections, and carried forward Don’s proud legacy of innovation, problem‑solving, and excellence in government and military contracting projects nationwide.
Expansion and Growth
By 2013, HHI Corporation moved to new headquarters in Ogden Valley, transforming a historic brickyard into a 54‑acre construction and manufacturing campus. Honoring generations of brickmakers, the campus incorporated their products into its architecture, symbolizing respect for the past while building a foundation for future innovation.
